Patrick and I stopped by the other day and cleared the weeds from the Pavilion site. Once again looking very nice. I will probably do this one or two more times before snow flies. Cheers, Greg

Sociable five

As many of you know we held our fifth Annual sociable affair at the end of July. This I received from the Parks dept. this morning. This pretty well insures that the Paddlers for Parts crew will be hosting Sociable Six.

We are glad to hear your event went well, NWT Parks looks forward to working with you next year, we will continue to improve the park at Yellowknife River and have more plans next year to make it better.

Thanks for your kind letter,

Sincerely,

Luke Coady

Yellowknife Annual spring Clean-up.

Yesterday was our day to clean the area that we had been issued by the city. Each spring the City is devided into areas based on the number of Groups that apply and are accepted for the Annual spring clean-up. The City sets aside 30,000.00 dollars for this event and it is devided equally betweenn the groups once their areas have been decared cleaned by the City. A great way to earn a few bucks for the groups and it gives a nice facelift to Yellowknife.
This year we are hoping he increased enforc… Continue

Public Health office in Yellowknife

Hello fellow members and everyone else . I was contacted the other day by the people from Public health an asked if we could deliver 100 Organ Donor cards and I dropped them off that afternoon. A very handy spot to have a few cards out there for folks to pick up should they wish to consider donating.
I am always looking for new places to put cards and if you have a location and would like some (in Yellowknife) call me and we can arrange something. Cheers, Greg

Your government destroying the country that we live in

Here is the lastest and unfortunately not the greatest news for Canadians. I have copied this with permission.
Hello all,

As you may know, the federal government tabled its 2009 Budget (The Budget Implementation Act, Bill C-10). , The budget act includes sweeping changes to one of Canada's important laws, the Navigable Waters Protection Act (NWPA).

Lake Ontario Waterkeeper researched the proposed changes to the NWPA, and is offering a comment on the changes for your information.

This summa… Continue
